Eddie Constantine has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 14 years. He was lucky enough to be one of the first Americans exposed to the highly effective art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He studied under some of the legends of the sport including Ralph, Renzo and Charles Gracie. Having started his training in 1994 under the tutelage of the Gracies, and after five years of dedicated training, he was awarded his purple belt. He also completed the RAPESAFE instructor program under Master Renzo Gracie.
Competing for the United Gracie Jiu-Jitsu competition team, Eddie earned a silver medal at the 2000 international championships. This 32 man tournament required him to compete in five matches, one after the other. He submitted two opponents and defeated the others on points. He also competed in the Gracie Challenge (no holds barred) earning a 3-0 record, finishing all of his opponents with submission holds.
While attending the University of the Pacific, Eddie contributed his skills and knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu to the student body by conducting daily group and private classes. During this period, Eddie was also actively training with current Elite XC and UFC fighters Nick Diaz, Tim McKenzie, 2X world champion BJ Penn, and former world champion Matt Serra.
