Profile

Farima Berenji holds a B.S. in Health Science/Art History, as well
as an M.A. in Anthropology/Archeology. As a child, Farima was exposed
to the world of art and dance by her mother who was a dancer, writer,
and a musician. Farima continued her dance studies by taking extensive
training in Persian Folklore dances, Cultural/Spiritual dances, and
Middle Eastern dances, and has performed with various professional dance
groups and she is often a guest dancer/ soloist performing abroad.
Farima continued her passion by teaching ethnic and folkloric dance
styles as well as teaching Mesopotamian, Persian, and Egyptian History
in various educational institutions, community organization, as well
as internationally. She has performed in various international music
videos and has been in variety of international magazine advertisement.
Farima is currently the dance instructor of Ballet Afsaneh, teaching
Middle Eastern, Central Asian, and Persian style dances and has been
awarded the “Instructor of the Year” by Ballet Afsaneh.
When not dancing, Farima spends her time painting, writing poems, playing
soccer, and strengthens her musical and Daf (frame drum) performance
by working closely with her master, Nejad. She also volunteers her time
by being the VP of Education for the United Nations Associations and
travels frequently to Iran and Middle East to promote and implement
art, multicultural education, dance, and archeological excavations.
