Joie has been dancing since the age of three and has tried her hand at
a wide array of genres. She has been formally trained in ballet, hip hop,
jazz, lyrical, contemporary and African tribal dancing. She began her
dancing career with Applegate Dance Studio and Studio C. Her time with
Studio C allowed her to travel nationwide competing in dance competitions
and performing to raise money for charities. After training with Studio
C for an extensive amount of time Joie also began teaching beginning ballet
classes. Soon after, Joie moved to San Diego where she took numerous classes
with Culture Shock of San Diego and the University of California, San
Diego and was lucky enough to be the only freshmen to perform in the senior
dance show. After spending her undergraduate years in southern California,
Joie has found her way to Ariel studios and is ecstatic to be teaching
again.
Joie received her bachelors degree in Political Science from UC San Diego
and is currently working on receiving her JD from Santa Clara University
School of Law. She believes that the best way to a happy life is to find
something you're truly passionate about and always find time for it. Joie
has found that passion in dance and hopes to help others discover their
passion for it as well. She believes that everyone can dance it's just
a matter of finding your niche in the dance world.
