Director's Summary
This summer, it is our pleasure to showcase the icons of modern pop culture, as well as pay tribute to the amazing variety of music and dance in the world today.
The human spirit is infinitely adaptable, and artists around the world tap into this wellspring of creativity to translate movement and sound into art. When their art strikes a universal chord across a broad swath of society, new pop movements and icons are often born.
Tonight's concert celebrate the wonderful diversity of musical styles and dance. A delightful mixture of popular hits and lesser known musical gems accompanies us as we explore the many exotic worlds of jazz, tap, modern, ballet, hip hop, and other explosive dance styles.
This combination of the familiar with the unkown brings out the emotions that art has always sought - liberation, inspiration, and fullfillment. So get ready, open your senses and join us as we enter the world of "Pop Rocks and Ultra Sounds."
