10-Week Contemporary Modern Dance Workshop with Juilliard Graduate, Melissa Wynn, Saturday, 6/13-8/22, 12:45 PM
This contemporary modern dance workshop focuses on moving dynamically through space while working with "strength from within, ease from without." Movement phrases and philosophy explores moving from internal to external in a "release technique" approach - while always focused on clarity of intention and movement initiation. Students are charged with the challenge of utilizing impulse specificity with energetic physicality and to experiment with off-balance and/or non-logical movement phrases. This 10-week workshop will culminate in a full-length production number in our 8/29 "Poetry in Motion" concert. >
